For students returning after academic dismissal
Criteria for discounting grades and credits are as follows: Grades of “E” in the major, then grades of “E” outside the major; Grades of “D”- in the major, then grades of “D”- outside the major, etc.
All decisions regarding courses discounted in the computation of the new grade point average are final. You may NOT change your decision. All previously earned grades will remain on your transcript. Discounted grades will have a "Z" in front of them indicating they do not count in the computation of the GPA, and that any credit previously earned has been removed. Loss of credit MAY affect Financial Aid eligibility. Students who readmit after an academic dismissal must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours at Oneonta.
OPTION 1. Recalculate Academic GPA (GPA will be recalculated to at least a 2.0, which may result in the loss of some earned credit)
OR
OPTION 2. Maintain Original Academic GPA (same GPA earned when dismissed and maintain all credit)

Suspension is defined as a sanction imposed for disciplinary reasons that results in a student leaving school for a fixed time period, less than permanently. Dismissal from a college for disciplinary reasons is defined as permanent separation from an institution of higher education based on conduct or behavior and not on academic performance.
An affirmative response to the question will not automatically prevent readmission, but applicants will be asked to provide additional information. The information will be reviewed by a campus committee to ensure campus safety. Any falsification or omission of data may result in a denial of readmission or dismissal.
